Goldener Schluessel Hotel - Bern

The location is awesome, right in the center with easy access to restaurants! But the breakfast was disappointing, lacking variety. Not cool 😕. The room was quite huge but had some quirky design choices that I didn't love.

Make sure you stay in the double room with the double bed, balcony plus the facilities. Exceptional service, the breakfast was free and delectable and they have public parking if needed. Plus, the location is absolutely perfect, minutes from Clock Tower😃

From the moment of arrival we were made to feel most welcome by a receptionist that spoke perfect English. Other staff were extremely helpful in both assisting with a computor problem and returning our lost wallet! The hotel is in a perfect location for sightseeing and shopping. Despite this we had a very quiet room and a perfect nights sleep! The rooms although very simple were very clean and comfortable We would recommend this hotel. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room would give added value.

Positive, The sixth-floor room was quiet with a comfortable bed. The staff helped me navigate the city really well. Breakfast was excellent and the dining area was pleasant. It was a great start to my day!

The hotel is excellently located in the Old Town of Bern. Our room was quiet and absolutely clean. The staff were very cooperative, and the breakfast was good.

Accommodation in Switzerland is fiendishly expensive, so this was good value for that country, although it would cost two thirds the price in many other European countries. The bathrooms have been built into the bedrooms during a recent renovation, so they are small and rather flimsy, but quite functional.

great location but some minor issues

The location was excellent, right in the heart of the old city. The staff were friendly and accommodating, going out of their way to meet requests. Our comfort double room was spacious with a lovely balcony that offered a charming city view. The beds were very comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep, and the shower was powerful and hot, which I appreciated after a long day of sightseeing.

The breakfast was plentiful but lacked some variety, which could improve the overall experience.

excellent location in center of berne. The rooms are small and with a strange WC (camp style) , no soaps provided from the hotel (strange for the fares payed)

The hotel is right in the heart of the city. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and the room felt warm and cute.

My wife says that a larger breakfast selection would be great for families.
